Thing # 5 explore Flickr

What fun! I learned about Flickr's tags, groups, projects, etc. Thoroughly inspected and used the Advanced Search, noting that "All these words", "Exact phrase", "Any of these words" and "None of these words" are equivalent to Boolean "and", "or", "not" capabilities. Also noted that can search content type, media type, or by date. Thought the reference following Basic Search (at bottom of Advanced Search page) "without all the knobs and twiddly bits" was a very cute expression. Awesome - that the "People" tab shows that Flickr users are folks from all over the world! Searched and found GREAT photos, like "falling apart" by hiibiiscus (dandelions are one of my favored images). Way cool is the ability to view albums in slide show format. Wonderful resource. Can't wait to put my photos on it to share.

On to mashups and 3rd party sites next.

Thing #s 1-4 - Progress report

Hi CSM Learning 2.0 Team members,

I have read "About" the CSM Learning 2.0 program - Thing #1.

I have read "Life Long Learning" - Thing 2. I read the "7 and 1/2 Habits", but was unable to open the Learning Contract attachment from my CSM office computer. So I did not have the template for my goals, obstacles, tools, resources, tasks, timeline, etc. I have simply noted them on a piece of paper.

Thing #3 - Yeah! At the Kick-Off, I created my own blog, complete with atavar - librarian and golden retriever outside a library.

Thing # 4 - I have registered my blog: http://tthlibrariancsm2.blogspot.com/ with the CSM Library 2.0 Team.

I am looking forward to exploring Flickr.

CSM Learning 2.0 kickoff

Hooray! Today I have created a blog account with Blogger. Directions were straight forward and even easy. It was nice to have librarians available to "hold my hand" as I went through this unfamiliar process.
